Juxtapose

Scotland and Canada's Lesson

The analogy is about how Scotland is like Canada and how each country resembles its neighbour.  The comparison between the group Canada as to the U. S. A. and the group Scotland as to England cannot be compared for many reasons.  Canada is not like Scotland.  Bilingualism, constitutional monarchism, and provincial parliament are not part of the American constitution.  Each country has different views on global politics and moral beliefs.  We do not have the same tribal organisations as the States.  It would not be advisable to say to a Scot that "Scotland is a territorial expression of England."  However, they both believe in a monarch system of government.  The Scots use the same currency as The English, which has the same value and the two countries speak on language.  If Canada is to lose a future was with the States, then and on then will we "be pushed into such a position that our nation will become a mere territorial expression of American aspirations - as Scotland is a territorial expression to England."  In other words, the differences are more important than the similarities.
